Oxapampa es una de las tres provincias del departamento de Pasco en Perú, poblada en su mayoría por descendientes europeos (alemanes y austriacos) y nativos (yaneshas).
El inevitable mestizaje entre sus habitantes es evidente cuando se visita la ciudad, que lleva el mismo nombre de la provincia.
Si se trata de encontrar el componente representativo de estos pobladores descendientes de migrantes europeos, que persevere hasta hoy en la ciudad, es el estilo arquitectónico de sus viviendas, muchas de ellas puesta en venta, como resultado de la búsqueda de una vida más citadina, plagada de atractivos modernos y oportunidades diversas, que desafortunadamente las jóvenes generaciones ya no encuentran en su ciudad natal.
Me invade tu ausencia, es una serie de fotografías de las fachadas de estas viviendas que retratan esta ausencia, que poco a poco se hace prominente, y que denuncia de alguna forma, el alejamiento y el abandono exculpado de las nuevas generaciones de esta maravillosa ciudad.
